Officials in Beirut confirmed the first death and at least 6 people which was seriously injured and taken to hospital.
According to local sources military units arrive in the area from several directions. Roads into the area get closed via military control posts while there are still gunfights inside the protest-area.
Military reportly has shot at least hundreds of small rounds toward two buildings in which snipers was located. One of the buildings is reportly on fire.
