PARIS: TENSIONS ON THE CHAMPS-ELYSÉES WHERE NEARLY 100,000 PEOPLE GATHER DESPITE THE COVID BAN
In Paris, nearly 100,000 people gathered on the Champs-Elysées, the most famous avenue in Paris.
Tensions broke out with the police and riot police, who made several arrests.
Gilets Jaunes activists and activists against compulsory vaccination tried to launch a march on the Élysée, at the time of the presidential speech of Emmanuel Macron.
Due to anti-COVID measures, any gathering was prohibited for New Year's Eve. This did not prevent this rally.
